So far watched the first five episodes. It great to see Billy with the team. And mick too. And there fights. Zedd new allies are pretty fun. And wow getting all the Morphin masters and destroying the dino fury powers. I liked how javi lost his arm and plays into the story. It was also cool billy created the cosmic powers. Now for Zedd I do like making him the big bad for the season. And even though I wasn't a fan of fury voice actor for Zedd. I thought he did well. Much better then redub voice in beast Morphers. But man I was totally shocked to see the credits and who voicing Zedd. Didn't expect Fred t. Who done so much voice work in cartoons currently on lower decks. I think he so far done the voice well.

I binged the whole thing this morning. I rewatched my top five episodes for good measure.
I'd give it a 6/10, the finale really lets it down at the end, and a few other major flaws too such as too much tell, not show.
Best episodes
1. Master Plan 2. Switching Sides 3. Operation Seasoning 4. Beyond Repair 5. Take Off

I watched the first 5 episodes. There's a lot to unpack. I'm torn apart. The pace is too fast, too many things in the first episodes, good things and bad things, specially in the season opening... I think it lacks of breathing room. The first episode is so fast paced, it can't let you think of anything. For better or worse, it reminds me a slightly-better Super Megaforce first episode.

I’ve watched Eps. 1-3 so far and I’ve gotta say: Holy Sh*t!
The intro to the first episode was just spectacular. The Rangers plus the Morphin’ Masters in a huge brawl across the countryside, so, so cool. And then outta nowhere Billy shows up? Awesome. And then Mick suddenly regains the power to morph? Double awesome!
One thing I loved about the latter episodes of Dino Fury is how they utilized the supporting cast so I’m glad to see that continue.
I love how everything is just plot, plot, plot like there’s no tacked on moral and no filler episodes, at least not yet.
Amelia has really grown into a leadership role. I just watched the first morph scene, and everyone’s realization (especially her’s) that she’s become the Red Ranger was so special.
The only thing I’m not loving so far is the squid people lol. They annoy me, the daughter makes me desperately miss Mucus.

Simon Bennet did a lengthy stream yesterday sharing a lot of behind the scenes gossip on Cosmic Fury
Here's some highlights:
1. They had planned at least twenty episodes, but Hasbro only wanted ten.
2. Toei did not want them changing the Deathryuger helmet lines
3. Zayto was Changed from White to Beige because Hasbro thought a black actor playing a white ranger was insensitive
4. The 'Letter N' gag in the penultimate episode was a Take That! at Hasbro who actually did express concerns about it
5. Hasbro accused production of cultural appropriation for making Robo Rita look too Japanese in Once & Always.
6. It was never planned for David Fielding to cameo as Zordon
7. Zedd's Morphing Master suit was deemed too fragile to use in a proper final fight
8. They admit to there being a Continuity Snarl with Zedd living out his fantasy with Rita at the end of the finale, as this was supposed to be the 'purest evil' form of Zedd who existed prior to being married.
9. Mick had more fight footage but was cut, and originally, Ninjor was going to return
10. Writer Becca Barnes has a tentacle and cat fetish.

Overall really strong season, but it does kinda fall apart near the end. There was some real great stuff in there like Fern becoming a ranger, Billy being a mentor and still getting to join in on the action, Mick having his appearances and also getting to morph, Evil Ollie was so great, the cast has really grown into their roles so there was some great acting. Particularly I think Aiyon really shined this year. I also really liked Amelia's transition to red in the first few episodes. AND OF COURSE, DEATHRYUGER FINALLY GETS ADAPTED! 7 years after he should've been, but it's still so SO great to see Heckyl finally get his chance to be a ranger. Most of this season was absolutely great. I think the scene where the past megazords show up to help was cool, bad CGI aside. And we got some FANTASTIC villains all around the board, both old and new. The writing for the dialogue was on point most of the time, some really funny lines in there.
But there was some stuff I didn't like. I know the writers had restrictions but I don't like how incredibly chill everyone was about Javi losing his arm right in front of them, the finale was so massively disappointing with a really short battle that wasn't even really a battle, just a cannon shot. And they DON'T EVEN DEFEAT ZEDD! He gets this awesome new final form and he just blasts at them a few times, and their final confrontation is just a conversation... that's so unbelievably weak. They had such a strong game going and they really dropped the ball on the conclusion. And I also really don't like how Zayto got shafted ranger-wise. Yes, I know he's got magical macguffin powers but he barely gets to join in on the action at all and he got sidelined in spite of being "all powerful".
Also the suits still suck. Still, overall I'd give it about an 8/10 because I really did enjoy most of it. Some of the best character stuff we've had in YEARS. Some really good action scenes, too.

Never feel like the exact representation of this season like this. Bravo. I echo the sentiments of PowerKamenSentai, it fell apart at the end. But I'm more critical. Rewatching the first 5 episodes, made me say something like: "wait, why they didn't do this or this". "How's Billy there?", "Why Zayto is demoted to a prop for 6 episodes?". And so on.... So, it's a 5/10. Mediocre, not bad not good. In the middle.

Ep. 4+5:
Still so much fun! I’m really loving the whole plot with Earth having fallen and now the return of the Cosmic Fury team is our last hope. Plus Zedd conquering Eltar as well. Dark days indeed.
I really want Ollie back soon. His new evil costume is cool though.
They’re making it sound like Zayto’s terminally ill. Or was his whole deal with the Morphin’ Masters like “you will only be brought back to life until Zedd’s gone.”?
I like how we actually got to see Mick morph with a real Ninja Steel morpher. I hope he rejoins the team at some point.
Fern being eager to help while Izzy is overprotective is good too.
The way they all just hop into whatever zord shows up is kinda funny to me. It kinda feels like they didn’t really care about the zord part of the show lol. But generally I don’t either so I don’t even mind.
Daddy Tarrick to the rescue 🥰 I assume Heckyl is the spy he was talking about. He was my least favourite part of Dino Charge but I’ll wait and see, this could potentially be good too.

Ep. 6+7:
The easiest way to tug on my heartstrings is to put Solon in danger.
Is Zayto’s “illness” leading up to him becoming a Morphin’ Master himself? Like he’ll “die” again but this time just ascending to a higher plane of existence?
I love that Fern became a ranger, an orange ranger at that, and that her dinosaur is a Solonosaurus. I don’t like that her helmet is the same as Amelia’s though :/ And so… is Ollie just not coming back? There’s no orbs left for him now…
Tarrick is the bomb. I wish he could somehow morph back into Void Knight but still, he’s badass nonetheless.
Seeing Heckyl morph was cool too. Does anybody else still instinctively think of him as the Talon Ranger? lol
I love that they brought Lily back. It’s the little things that keep me impressed with the continuity.
So Pine Ridge is ostensibly safe, looks like they gotta take the fight to Eltar now? Looking forward to it!

Well I finished it. Things were going pretty great up until the finale.
Ep. 8:
So fun! I love Mucus so I’m glad she’s back and on the good guys side now. Slyther’s alright but not as good. Still, even though they got captured I love that they actually succeeded in their mission.
Tarrick is stull awesome. And I’m so happy the Squid people were destroyed and I’ll never have to see Bajillia’s annoying face again. *Looks into the camera like I’m on The Office* I actually did really enjoy this episode though.
Ep. 9:
As the episode opened I thought “Oh good, Billy’s back, he can go with them to Eltar.” Ten seconds later cue the “womp womp”noise.
Very glad Ollie’s back, but I’m so disappointed that the 7 Cosmic Fury Rangers never got to be together in action at the same time.
Oh joy, Bajillia survived. 🙄 Well at least she won’t be stealing the main villain spotlight from Zedd or anything crazy like that. *looks into camera again.*
Master Zedd looked really awesome. Too bad he ultimately proved useless. The idea of an evil Z Wave wasn’t bad though.
Ep. 10:
Oh dear. So, I liked the part where Aiyon was talking with Zordon. I knew it was him right away.
The old megazords showing up was fun too. I don’t even get the “bad cgi” complaints cuz… y’know… this is Power Rangers.
The idea of the rangers sharing the pain was also nice, too bad it never really came into play.
Zayto becoming a Morphin’ Master I don’t mind. And saying goodbye to the team again was sad but more touching this time around.
But that “final battle” was just… so goddamn lame. The Rangers didn’t really do anything. Zayto could have done that conversation himself without them being there. And Zedd is just…undefeated. How incredibly boring. (Also having recently been treated to Barbara Goodson again the bad Rita impression sounded that much worse).
The final scene was really cute and touching. The problem is I couldn’t even really enjoy it because I was just SO let down by the preceding scene. But I do love ALL of these characters including all the supporting cast. The relationship between Amelia and her parents and Pop Pop is so so precious. And the “cool cool coolio” was really cute.
So I think I have to give this season a 6.5/10. Mainly because the eary episodes were all 10s, then some 8-9s but then finishing on a Negative 2 really brought the average down.
Also, question: Is this supposed to take place before Once and Always? It would make sense that this is where Billy gets the idea to try and rez Zordon, thus leading to the RoboRita affair. It did seem like a “sequel hook” moment. If that’s the case I wish they had released them in that order, because while this was ultimately disappointing the special was so good that it would have been nice to end on a high note.

Before he took his X(Twitter) account down again, I had asked this question and he confirmed that Once and Always takes place during the sixth month gap before the final scene of Dino Fury as him mentioning of going into space leads him to Mick and to them being on Zordnia. He did also mention that he could see how people would see it the other way, but Once and Always for sure takes place before the start of Cosmic Fury.

mmm, but Jane talks about Buzzblast Angel Grove in the final scene like it’s something she’s just planning/hasn’t happened yet. And Cosmic Fury takes place immediately after. But then in O&A Buzzblast Angle Grove exists.
Not to be ‘that guy’ but Simon is wrong about his own show lol
